A gusty and at times nasty wind greeted 130 shooters at the Kenny Barnes Open and when it was over, John Nugent stood atop as HOA winner. The scores reflected the windy conditions particularly on Sunday when strong gusts presented demanding conditions for skeet. Nugent dropped three targets in the 410 bore but ran them in the other gauges to post an impressive 397. Wayne Mayes, who had captured the doubles championship with a perfect 100, entered the Sunday afternoon 20 gauge with a perfect score but dropped four targets in the wind.
